Star Wars: Galactic Racer joins Luna, but Brazil misses cloud access
The campaign joined the service at launch for Prime members in eligible regions; Brazilian accounts receive only non-streaming benefits.
R42 / SUMMARY
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is included with Amazon Luna for Prime members in countries with full cloud gaming. Amazon classifies Brazil as a non-cloud region, so Brazilian subscribers cannot stream the campaign through the service.
KEY POINTS
- The single-player campaign joined Amazon Luna alongside the PC and console launch on October 6.
- Prime access applies only in territories where Luna cloud gaming is available.
- Amazon classifies Brazil as a claimable-games region without cloud streaming.
- Brazilian players can still use the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC editions.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer joined Amazon Luna on October 6, the same day it launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Amazon added the single-player campaign to the Prime benefit in countries with full access to its cloud gaming service, allowing members to start the game without buying a separate copy or installing local files.
The offer does not apply in the same way to Brazil. Amazon’s official Luna country list places the Brazilian market among “non-cloud gaming service regions.” Prime subscribers in those territories receive claimable games, but not catalog streaming. Having Amazon Prime in Brazil therefore does not unlock the Galactic Racer campaign through Luna under the terms announced for eligible territories.
What the Luna version offers
The Luna listing identifies the experience as single-player and lists controller or keyboard-and-mouse support, 1080p video, 5.1 audio and Brazilian Portuguese among its languages. Amazon’s announcement highlights the campaign, in which players control Shade, a racer who enters the Galactic League in pursuit of glory and revenge.
Progression is organized around successive runs. Route, event, vehicle and upgrade choices made during each attempt change the path through the competition. The game includes landspeeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders and podracers, each with distinct handling. Jakku, Ando Prime and Sentinel I are among the confirmed locations, while Sebulba returns as a familiar competitor from the Star Wars universe.
Amazon also describes Arcade and Scenarios modes. The former consists of short events built around specific objectives and track-and-vehicle combinations; the latter offers longer runs with different rules and characters. Even so, Prime messaging emphasizes the single-player campaign, and the Luna listing does not present multiplayer as part of this version. It should not be confused with the editions sold for PC and consoles.
Why the benefit does not work in Brazil
Amazon’s documentation separates availability into three levels. The United States, United Kingdom, Canada and parts of Europe are listed as full cloud gaming regions. Brazil, Australia, India, Japan, Mexico and other markets belong to a group that receives claimable games only. A third set of countries receives benefits through Prime Video, also without automatic access to streaming.
A separate help page says Brazilian residents need an Amazon Prime membership to activate Luna Standard benefits. Read on its own, that instruction can suggest that the cloud catalog is available. The more detailed territory list clarifies the distinction: in Brazil, the current benefit covers claims rather than remote game execution. The launch announcement itself limits Galactic Racer to territories where Luna with Prime is available.
For Brazilian players, the official alternatives remain the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC editions. Amazon has not announced when Luna cloud gaming will become available in Brazil or whether Galactic Racer would remain included if the service expands there later.
A simultaneous launch with geographic limits
A new game reaching Luna on the same day as other platforms matters because it lowers two barriers: the price of an additional copy for people who already subscribe to Prime and the need for dedicated gaming hardware. Creative Bloq described the move as unusual for a release of this scale, while Amazon presents it as a first for the service.
Its practical reach still depends on both connection quality and the subscription’s country. The case demonstrates that “included with Prime” does not mean worldwide availability: catalog, access method and streaming rights are determined by territory. For readers in Brazil, the central point is not only that Galactic Racer entered Luna, but that the announced benefit remains unavailable because the country lacks Luna’s cloud gaming service.
